The first of May and a crib! :)

How can it be May already???? Don't get me wrong, the faster this summer goes by, the better for me! But I'm still shocked that we are almost 1/2 through 2012! Here is my 19 week tummy. . .

I started feeling very distinct movement last week and it is amazing! I love feeling my little one roll around and flip. Well except for last night when LO ran into my bladder! I've started calling the baby "pumpkin" since it will be making an early fall arrival! (That and I was tired of mixing up my pronouns since we aren't finding out the gender.)
I'm even ready for Pumpkin's arrival with a pumpkin cap! :)

In our most exciting news this week (it is only Tuesday though, so lots can still happen!) our crib arrived yesterday afternoon! We were itching to spend the evening building the crib, but we already had guests coming for dinner last night. So it is still in pieces, but ready for assembly!

These little guys have recently become my favorite friend in the morning! I gave up coffee cold turkey for the first 4 months, but lately I've been sooooo tired that I finally gave in. Half-caff is an awesome go-between! Still not a lot of caffeine but enough to ease the headaches I've been having.

Enjoying Pregnancy

Last night at church, I had my first night of "you look pregnant!" :) Yay! I'm 18 weeks on Saturday and can't believe how fast it is moving along now. The first 3 months go by so sloooooooooooow! But now I'm already half way through the 2nd trimester and loving every minute of it!

Current size of baby = sweet potato

The weather has been amazing the past few weeks! Usually by April it is already really hot, but the rainy season is keeping things cool! We bought patio furniture this weekend and have been enjoying the evenings outside.

17 Weeks and Counting!

I still wake up every morning amazed that I have a little person growing inside of me! I am ready to look obviously pregnant instead of chubby though. . .hehe!

We have decided to be surprised on the gender. . .which adds some excitement to the process. I love hearing people's guesses and reasoning behind them! My 5 year old nephew told me the baby is a girl because "girls only have girls and boys have boys." Haha! I didn't have the heart to tell him he came from Mommy's tummy and not Daddy's!

My friend Ashley has already guessed girl and sealed it with this:

I still don't have a feeling either way, but I enjoy hearing other people's guesses. It's interesting how people react to the whole "secret gender" decision. Most think it's fun, but some have proceeded to tell us how ridiculous we are. . .oh well, I guess I need to get used to hearing others opinions on my decisions. Haha!

I will leave you with this beautiful specimen from our backyard :)

Why I've been MIA. . .

It was a rough 1st Trimester and since I couldn't talk about it yet. . .I just stayed away from posting so I wasn't tempted! :)

We started our 2nd Trimester today and couldn't be more excited!

  • Juicy Couture Viva La Juicy: This scent will bring out your inner girly girl.
  • Juice Beauty Blemish Clearing Serum: Pesky zits are no match for this high-performing serum. (Perfect timing! My face looks like a pepperoni pizza lately!)
  • Chuao Chocolatier Spicy Maya ChocoPod: Spicy and sweet, these artisanal dark chocolate treats are laced with  chile and cayenne pepper.
I'm most excited about these two:

Revisit to Christmas - Easy gift ideas!

I made some homemade sugar scrub:

 The recipe:
  • 4 cups of sugar
  • 2.5 cups of sunflower oil (olive oil has too much of it's own smell)
  • 1 tbs your favorite oil, essence, or flavoring (I used peppermint and orange)
  • a few drops of food coloring
I used old spaghetti sauce containers that I collected all year. . .they made perfect jars, and best of all they were FREE!

And of course for a little yummy addition to everyone's Christmas diet. . .fudge covered Oreos!!!!! These were addicting! (they are also part of the reason I am now running 3 days a week!)
